Master Gardener Linda Christine wins at the Fair

Linda Christine entered in her words “I entered flowers(a box truck full) yesterday for the Aiken County Fair and tonight we went out and I had won the top award for this (Mickey Mouse Toro-elephant ear type of plant that my friend Betty Carothers from Augusta shared a small little 4 inch start three years ago…I have kept it in greenhouse each winter and this year I have potted it up three times and note I even sprayed the pot RED like half the pots, benches, etc. in the yard. I think my earnings for this plant alone will be $65…..I won numerous other ribbons and will not know my total award money until next week when plants are picked up..Most everything I carried got either a blue or red ribbon….Blues pay $5 and red pay $3. Now I can go buy pansies with my earnings.”

Congratulations to Linda:
